Tyler Harmon, Houston Heat.
Known as one of the most versatile players in the World, Tyler Harmon of Houston Heat has been carving out his legacy in the sport of paintball for nearly 20 years. From his early roots in Modesto, California training under the brutal and demanding presence of the legendary Bob Long and Rich Telford, to his status as one of the best paintball players in the World, Tyler Harmon has been one thing above all else, intense.
During the 2021 NXL season, Tyler was incredibly effective on the pro field. His versatility to play any spot to an elite level, combined with his nearly unmatched marker-skills made him one of the most feared players of the year. Tyler played behind Chad George on the snake side of the field and they combined to be one of the best snake side duos in the league. He would often be called upon by his team to isolate the opposing teams best snake attacker, and get them off the field. This was especially evident when Tyler went head-to-head against Alex Goldman and Kyle Spicka in Philadelphia in the Finals and he was able to nearly mute Goldman, who is seen as one of the best players in the World.
Tyler was able to secure an event win at the NXL Mid Atlantic Major after he left San Diego Dynasty to join Houston Heat mid-season. His level of intensity throughout the event was seen as a driving factor to Heat's success on otherwise difficult field conditions. At the NXL Windy City Major event, Tyler was arguably the best players of the preliminary round of games, where his team had a perfect 4-0 record as he played multiple spots all over the field. At the final event of the season at World Cup, Tyler's elite marker skills were on full display, winning multiple down-body situations and coming out on top in nearly every 1v1 and 1v2 he was up against.
Signature moment of the 2021 NXL Season: Tyler goes head-to-head against his former team in the semi-finals of the Mid-Atlantic Major and is a major contributor as they beat Dynasty 8-4. Tyler was asked to play one of the hardest spots on the field where his job was to neutralize a surging Mike Urena on the snake side. His energy and vocal demeanor towards Dynasty was evident all game. Alongside the rest of Heat, he dominated Dynasty on his way to another finals berth and event win.
