The season opener of the National XBall League has come to an end, and the weekend was full of surprises as the world's best professional and amateur paintball teams kicked off the season. It was the event of new beginnings at the Sunshine State Major, which brought the inaugural event of the WNXL, plenty of surprises in the pro division, and the start of many heated battles in the amateur divisions.

After one of the most wild off-seasons we have ever seen, the opening event of the National Xball League is just a few days away and the Sunshine State Major should be a heated battle of the worlds best paintball teams. As professional players begin to land in Kissimmee, Florida for the first of six NXL events this season, they are preparing for a fast and aggressive field layout that may push even the best teams in the world to the brink.

New to the World Cup of Paintball this season is the introduction of an all-women's professional paintball division, being called the Women’s National Xball League or the WNXL for short. Paintball has always been a sport of inclusion where everyone has an equal and fair chance to play. However, the introduction of a women’s only league will hopefully create a larger demographic of professional female players in a sport that has been mostly seen men as the majority gender.
